A POEM IN HAIKU STYLE - A DAILY VISION OF LIFE

If we look at a new day through the eyes of life, we can understand that NOW is all we need. (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

THE SUNLIGHT HITS ME
AS I GET UP EACH MORNING
WITH DESIRE FOR SUCCESS

DAY BEGINS SLOWLY
AS NIGHT DISAPPEARS WITH EASE
WITH A PANORAMIC SCENE

CLOUDS SAIL OVERHEAD
NATURE COMES ALIVE WITH GLEE
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

WE'RE LIVING IN THE 21ST CENTURY!

There once was a time
Vivid in my mind
When things were so much easier.

We woke a dawn
And mowed the lawn
And everyone seem busier.

We walked to school
To learn the golden rule
And learning was so much fun.

We played games like jacks
And hopped to the song Miss Mac
And around the yard we would just run.

Most of our toys were home made
We had no idea what was a raid
Yes, life was so much simpler.

We would drink kool aid
Or a bottle of Chavannes lemonade
Yes, life was a lot calmer.

But today we are on the go
Standing in lines or sitting in rows
For this is reality.

Apples are nolonger just at Christmas
Cell phones, MP3 and Ipods are a must
We're living in the 21st Century!

COMO NACE UNA POETA

HOW DOES ONE BECOME A POET

Today I will not be publishing one of my poems. Instead I will try to explain how one becomes a poet.

Poetry is magic. It is love. It is romance. It is life and it is living.

Most poets have no problem writing and can do so at will. However, the events that affect us gives fuel to our creativity. Our pain or happiness can have inspiring effect on our writing. Some poets take a long time to write a poem while others just have to put the pen in hand and the words flow across the page.

If you are a person who enjoys riing, try writing a poem. Be creative. Enjoy the power of the pen.

Love,

Brenda A. Ysaguirre

I MISS YOU, FRIEND

There are many things I could have said,

There are many things I could have done,

But once the end comes all is dead,

And the battle is never won.

There are many things I could have seen,

There are many things that I could have stopped,

But nothing is as it had been,

No one saw this coming but it finally flopped.

I miss talking to you,

I miss sitting in your kitchen,

I miss eating the food you do,

I miss everything we had then.

In my heart you are still my friend,

In my heart you are still my sister,

In my heart our friendship never did end,

On my heart I carry a blister.

I want to text you like I did before,

I want to write you an email, too

I want to see you walk in through the door,

I miss you, friend, I really do.

The pain I carry in my heart,

These three months have made me cry,

The stupidity that keeps us apart,

I can't put aside even if I try.

So how do I overcome this sadness that I feel?

What should we do to get over this, friend?

Will my pain go away, will it ever heal?

Because I promised to be your friend to the end.

Your life now takes a new turn, I hear,

I send my love and it is true,

This is a gift of a lifetime, my dear,

So I send my love for all of you.

NO LO DEBIAS DE HABER HECHO

YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE

I knew you were heading down that path,
I knew you would say you are smart.
But what I tried to say was that we are women,
And there is no way we are safe with men.

I feel I should have been here to stop you,
I feel I should have known what you would do,
But I tried to understand that you are growing up,
But I think you have taken more than a full cup.

This is something that should have taken time,
This is the stairs I wish you had not climbed.
There is no turning back now as we all know,
But was that really the way to go?

There might be hurt and pain coming your way,
I hope this won’t go down as a very sad day.
But if it does, I’ll be there for you,
Because I know what you are going through.

TOMORROW I DECLARE MY NEW EXISTENCE

Another night is here and what do I do?

I sit across the room and work like you do.

So many things happened this weekend,

I think if I count them they are more that ten.

This crazy world is spinning out of control,

It's taking the old me and making me bold.

I don't care who wants to have their say now,

Just let them be ready for what I have to say and HOW.

I will stand tall because my life I control,

I guess they didn't know, they were never told.

To watch out for the demon they have set free,

To watch out, because this is the real me.

Thank you for being by my side and guiding me,

Thank you for helping me and setting me free.

Tomorrow is the day of my new existence,

Tomorrow is is the day I declare my independence.

UNA POEMA PARA MI NIETA, CIARRA ALEXANDRIA

The innocence of a child is the joy of the parents. (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

Happy Easter, Cici, My Little Princess
It's Easter Sunday as I sit here,

Wishing I was with you over there.

For I know you will have a lot of Easter treats,

Oh, how I love Easter Sweets!

It's Easter Sunday and I'm missing you,

I'm sitting here wondering what to do.

I guess the Easter Rabbit went your way,

And with the candy he left he made your day.

So have a Happy Easter , my little princess,

Know that I will always love you best.

Enjoy the Easter Egg Hunt and your cookies, too,

Happy Easter, Ciarra, I love you.

From Grandma Brenda with all my love.

VINO PARA SALVAR EL MUNDO

HE CAME TO SAVE THE WORLD

He came to save this world,

He came for every boy and girl.

He did many things great and small,

He did the work for which he was called.

He went from town to town and spread the word,

And many came and many heard.

The miracles he performed were work of the Father,

And where ever He went the crowd would gather.

His days were numbered and he knew from the start,

That he was here to save my heart.

He did what He had to do and then they came,

And to this day His name we proclaim.

For He showed the greatest act of love that day,

And from his dying breath these words He did say,

FORGIVE THEM FATHER FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO

This man Jesus died that day for me and you.

So let us remember the passion of the Christ,

For his love for us was paid with the highest price.

Let us turn to Him always as our source of love,

For He is watching us from above.

LA VISTA DESDE EL EXTERIOR

THE VIEW FROM OUTSIDE

I look around and all I see is the dying dawn,
I feel that there must be more than this but…
I guess it is like cutting the lawn,
And I wonder, is this just my luck?

Everything seems barren and bare,
I can feel the pain in every movement I make,
And like a child I think- Life isn’t fair.
And I wonder, are you really nothing but a fake?

For years you said you were my friend
And I believed it to be true,
But now as the Chapter comes to an end,
I believe there is more in what you do.

Life will always have ups and downs,,
And there is no running from that,
But now it’s time I hold my grounds,
You know what, I smell a rat!

I’m looking in from outside,
And I see you working on my case,
It is sad that we came to this,
But this is the pattern of the Human Race.

THIS IS THE LAST TIME

The last time I checked I was free,
The last time I checked I was me.
The last time I checked you were on my case,
The last time I checked I thought: “What A waste!”

Now I am on the go,
You have started something, you know.
And very soon you will see,
What it is like to mess with me.

You thought you could have your say,
That every day would be your day,
But I guess you will soon see you were wrong,
Now you will see how I have become strong.

I got tired of your attitude a long time ago,
Who do you think you are, Mrs. So-and-So?
I grew up fighting with people like you,
Now sit back and watch what I will do.

LIBERTAD PARA MIS BLOGS

A CALL TO ARMS

The unexpected has finally come to past. The day when someone will look me in the face and say on of my blogs is an abuse of my position. People, the last time I checked I lived in a free society in a free world and I was allowed freedom by the blogspot on the internet to voice my opinions and to try to help others to learn. I pray the readers out there will see what I am saying and tell me if there has been anything on these blogs of mine that has misled anyone. I am a teacher by profession and director of the school in which I teach and one I am ashamed of my profession at the moment. You will ask why I am ashamed. My answer is because if a colleague can look me in the face and write on paper that I am abusing my position with the use of these or any of my blogs or website when all I set out to do was to help my students and to give some colour to their little Corozal Town lives, then there is something wrong with the educational system in which I live. Either it will have to go or I will.

This is the why wars begin. People misunderstand things because they are told a lot of rubbish and ideas are pushed into their already packed brain. I urge each and everyone to stop and think before they listen to others. Ask yourself why is this person doing this and what is the hidden agenda? People do things for different reasons. Think. Why would someone who is supposed to be a friend or was a friend at one time, of another person, suddenly turn on him or her?

I will tell you right now if I am told that this entry was wrong to write there will be a lot of changes in Belize very soon. My democratic right as a citizen in a free country must never be taken for granted. I may be a lot of things to different people, but I am a caring, honest teacher and Director. I fight for the right to learn and to have choices that will assist students to become strong men and women of Belize. It was my hope that one day someone out there would see these blogs and want to assist the school or students. THAT WAS MY HOPE. IT IS STILL MY HOPE AND I WILL TRY MY BEST TO SEE SOMETHING POSTIVE IN REGARDS TO THE BLOGS so they are not WRITTEN IN VAIN.

If you asked me why I began the blogs I would have to honestly say because Mr. Abel Lopez Rodriquez showed me how to do them. Abel is a person who sees the good in everything and everyone. I have had to tell him more than once that there are people who are around who are dangerous, conniving and just plain mean. All that sea breeze must be getting to the brain and causing a deficiency called “deception”. Trust me there will be no forgiving from now on.

Write me at http://cccandcjc-ace.blogspot.com and visit my website http://brendaysaguirre.galeon.com and tell me if I am abusing my connections with my school. I am calling on all bloggers to give me a hand on this. Give me the ammunition I need to fight back to save my blogs and myself. Today it is me, but tomorrow it can be YOU.

Thank you,
Brenda A. Ysaguirre

TO FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE

I GUESS I WOULD HAVE TO BE DIRE.

DON'T YOU TIRE?

THE FIRE IS DEFINITELY BURNING.

BUT WILL YOU BE ABLE TO SURVIVE?

BECAUSE I SURELY PLAN TO COME OUT ALIVE.

THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL STOP,

NOT UNTIL YOU ARE ON TOP.

BUT HAVE YOU LOOKED AROUND YOU LATELY,

YOU BETTER START WORKING ON YOURSELF, LADY.

YOUR NUMBER WILL SOON BE PLAYED,

THEN I'LL SIT BACK AND YOU WON'T BE SAVED.

YOU WILL HAVE TO FACE YOUR OWN JURY,

YOU'RE OUT OF CONTROL RUNNING ON FURY.

TO FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE,

WHAT A BORE YOU HAVE BECOME.

TO FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE,

THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU ALL OVER TOWN.

WHAT DON'T YOU CLEAN UP YOUR OWN BACK YARD,

BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBOUR'S DOOR.

IT CAN'T BE ALL THAT HARD.

GET OUT BEFORE YOU HIT THE FLOOR.

BECAUSE I WILL FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE

AND I HAVE SUPPORT SO I WON'T TIRE.

YOU REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE BEGAN,

MY MESSAGE TO YOU IS "GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!"

ADONDE ESTA LA AMISTAD?

WHERE IS THE FRIENDSHIP?

Where did this friendship go wrong,

Why are you doing things that are mean,

This is proof that you're not strong,

You are really no good it would seem.

I was there when you needed me,

I never asked for anything in return,

So, why can't you let me be?

Why is it me you are trying to burn?

Just last week I thought of you,

And I was thinking to give you a call,

I was wondering what to do,

When suddenly I was set up for the fall.

You are a danger to those around you,

You are a fake and a snake in the grass,

I promise you will get your own problems, too,

Then we will see who laughs last.

So I guess this friendship is really over,

I guess you will have to find a new friend,

You better try to find a four leave clover,

Because you will end up alone in the end.

WHEN THE WALLS BEGIN TO CLOSE IN

You were my friend and I trusted you,

We have many great days and I was true,

So why are you attacking me right now,

How could you be so mean, HOW?

When the friendship started to fade,

I was sad and did not know what to say.

I tried my best to wish you well,

But today I sending you straight to hell.

When the walls start closing in on you,

What are your plans, what will you do?

I never wished you any thing but the best,

Why did you put my friendship to the test?

When the walls begin to close in, my friend,

It will be too late, it will be the end,

I won't feel sorry for what comes next,

I can't help it if you are upset or vex.

When the walls come closing in, my girl,

You will realize how small is this world.

You will wish you never knew me at all,

You are going to want to give me a call.

When the walls come crumbling in on you,

There will be nothing that you can do.

Then you will know what you did was not good,

For that what you did, you never should.

The walls are coming in on you,

I'm sorry its over and we are through.

But each of us must choose our path with care,

I'm sorry for you, I'm sorry my dear.

Maybe this is why you life is bare,

Because you are no good, I fear.

May God help you because you in really deep,

How can you go to bed , how can you sleep?

For the walls are closing in on you,

It's too late to repair all the things you do,

Maybe there is a lesson to learn from all this,

You better think of all the friends you've lost - go make a list.

For the walls are closing in on you,

And very soon you won't know what to do,

For the walls are closing in on you,

Just remember my friendship was once true.

NOT JUST YET

You don't realize it,

Not just yet.

You don't appreciate it,

Not just yet.

You don't understand it,

Not just yet,

You don't react to it,

Not just yet.

Maybe you won't ever realize it,

Not at all,

Maybe you won't appreciate it,

Not at all.

Maybe you won't understand it,

Not at all.

Maybe you won't react to it,

Not at all.

But I realize it,

As of now.

And I appreciate it,

As of now.

And I understand it,

As of now.

And I am reacting to it,

As of now.

The dream,

The hope,

The happiness,

The love,

The peace,

The belief,

The honesty,

The sincerity,

They don't exist.

They never did.

They never will.

It is all a figment of my imagination.

So the dreamer will dream,

And the dreamer will live,

And the dreamer will love,

And the dreamer will give...

MAYBE, but NOW, NOT JUST YET.

WOMAN, You Have ARRIVED!

WOMAN, the world is yours, it is up to you,

Yours is the choice, what will you do?

There are choices you have to make,

And tests you will have to take,

But the world is at your beck and call,

Now is the time to do it all.

Woman, can you hear the cry of the Land,

You can do it all, Yes you can.

For many, many years you sat back,

Because someone told you intelligence you lacked.

But now I tell you that you have arrived,

This is your time, for now you get to drive.

Woman, you are the unique and true,

You have the power to do all that you can do.

For from the crack of dawn you are up and about,

No one else can do so much, of that I've no doubt.

Whether you are in the home or in an office space,

You have arrived, you are now in the race!

So, Woman, take your rightful place in this world,

You've nothing to fear, my dear girl,

All your tomorrows will extend from this very day,

So watch all you do and listen to all you say.

Enjoy your new birth and this new YOU,

Be love, give love and it will be returned, too.

LIFE IS CALM IN BELIZE

Life is calm in Old Belize,

Where people go around doing as they please.

We may be up at dawn to get to work or school,

For it is everyone' plan to attain the golden rule.

But come the holidays or the weekend,

And we can have fun, come join us, friend.

Trips across the border into Mexico,

Where things can may you think of long ago.

Ah yes, life is calm in my Belize,

Where wonders of this earth never cease.

The people are our greatest treasure,

So come to Belize to experience the pleasure.

The cayes, the mountains, the Mayan monuments,

And the monthly and varied, enjoyable events.

The color and splendour of my Belize,

Come alive as we enjoy the land and the breeze.

Yes, life is calm in my Belize,

Where time can stand still and seem to freeze.

Where the many ethnic groups live together,

Where it's common to call a man our brother.

Yes, life is calm in this land of the free,

It's a place that everyone should get to see.

For I know that you will love if you had the chance.

For it's not a place you will forget once you've had a glance.

BECAUSE OF YOU

You mean the world to me,
Without you, where would I be?
What did I do before you were here,
With you by my side I have no fear.

You know just what to say,
With the coming of each new day.
There is so much I have to learn from you,
Without you where would I be, what would I do?
You are special that is obviously so,
I'm impressed by all you seem to know.

You came into my life for a reason, no doubt,
My life is complete because I know what you're about.
You're my guardian angel, my lover and my friend,
I will love you from now to the every end.
You're that special man in white that smiles at me,
When you sing your songs you set me free.
Be happy, my friend and my confidante,
I will never stop loving you, no, I shan't.
There are many things I know in this world,
And boy, it's clear to see you have this girl.
So walk on through the jungle by my side,
For with you there, I have nothing to hide.
I can face all the problems that tomorrow can bring,
Because I have your support and you are a darling.

Just SPLUNGE IN, TAKE A DIVE!

ONE TO THINK ON FOR LATER

One day it will all be over,

One day it will all be gone.

One day we will smile and wonder,

One day we will understand.

For now we go with the flow,

For now we sit back and smile,

For now we do as we are told,

For now we go the extra mile.

Later we will change our minds,

Later we will do as we please,

Later we will open the blinds,

Later all the stupidity will cease.

It will be too late then,

It will be losted in time,

It will be the coming of the end,

It will be new steps to climb.

So think what you do,

And think what you say,

Think what is best for you,

Before you go on your way.
