LIES, LIES AND MORE LIES

You begin with one and then you can't stop,

You don't realize when you are on the top.

You have to keep them going once you begin,

You have no idea what a mess you are in.

We know what you are doing,

And I want to tell you where you are going,

But you would flare up if I told you,

So I don't know just what to do.

If you could only understand what you do,

Maybe I really should tell you.

But what do you tell someone who talks of honesty,

But whose entire life is filled with dishonesty?

I hope you wake up from all the lies soon,

Before they lead to your apparent doom.

For you are really agreat peron otherwise,

If only you could stop the lies!

I CAN

A Poem dedicated to the Class of Third Years and their Lecturer of YO PUEDO - a Creative Science Class on Motivation, Abel L. Rodriquez

I CAN

Today I rejoice because I CAN,

Today I give thanks because I CAN,

Today all my thought are focused on I CAN,

Today I am alive and I CAN.

Just two little words,

Just TWO little words.

That mean quite a lot,

We are all sure of that.

Because for all the things we do,

For all the times you focus on "YOU",

There must be a base to lead you on,

That is where you focus on "I CAN!"

All you do and all you say,

Can either darken or brighten your day.

So fill your heart with love and peace,

And your thoughts of "I CAN" will never cease.

For YOU CAN and I CAN,

Be much more that we are today,

Because in our hearts we know what to say.

So shout with joy and say YO PUEDO - I CAN!

SOS. HELP BRUNO. Blog Solidarity

The boy in these photos is Bruno Alberto Gentiletti. He disappeared on March 2, 1997 in Rosario's resort called La Florida when he was 9 years old (see first photo).

Bruno has green greyish eyes, chestnut-colored hair, white skin and a scar located in the right scapula. He was born on June 18, 1988 in Las Rosas, Santa Fe, Argentina.

Today Bruno is 19 years old. His family did a study of progression of age at the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Bruno would look like the second photo now.

We believe that you can help us find him. So I ask you to send an email with the information and/or the address of this blog http://brunogentiletti.blogspot.com to all your friends and acquaintances, in this country and around the world, so that in turn, they can do the same.

Like Bruno, there are thousands of children who have been denied the right to grow up with their families and they all deserve that an effort be made to find them.
Thank you for YOUR HELP!!!

FAREWELL, THIRD YEARS OF 2008

There is so much I want to say,
There is so much I want to do,
But as we near the last day,
All I can say is I LOVE YOU.

So Anelie, Mairi, Neidi, Sheri and Yazmin,
I wish you mothers all the best,
Be kind and loving to your babies every day,
And God will take care of the rest.

Alfredo, Henri, Urian and Antonio
As the BUNCH there is no doubt,
Your noise, your jokes and your friendship,
Are what you were all about!

Neri, Eloisa and Gabriel,
My Dedicated Three,
Continue to hunger for knowledge,
You were an inspiration to ME.

Nonato, Marlon, Hefner, Tomas and Juan,
Thanks for being different from each and everyone.
Andy, Jair, Oscar and Ingrid,
I know you will succeed, because I believe YOU CAN.

Candida, my star throughout your three years,
You are a brilliant mind with your constant 4.00,
Keep up the hard work and I am sure,
That there is much more for you wherever you go.

Roger my faithful, kind helper,
I’ll never forget you for all you did,
I owe you more than I can very say,
So, accept an IOU to be used any time or day.

Jeron, Giovanni, Xiomara and Rosalie
Be all that you can be,
Because you are each special in every way,
Your success is clear to see.

So THIRD YEARS OF 2008,
You are all standing at the gate.
You have arrived at the top,
Just remember loving must never stop.

You hold the key to your lives in your hands,
Let no one tell you to wait,
You know life and how it stands,
Best wishes as you head out through the gate.

ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS

There are things I would like to say,

There are things that occur each and every day.

They make me want to stand up and scream,

They make me want to give up the dream.

But this life is all we have at this time,

So over the hurdle each must climb.

But please accept that all is possible,

And that no one is invincible.

The heart will accept that what it wants,

And it will make us rave and let out all our rants.

But never give up the struggle to the top,

For the reward you will achieve will make you glad you did not flop!

THE TIME'S UP

Alone I wonder what to do,
Alone I sit and think of you.
The next step I’ll have to take,
Because its one I have to make.

No use wasting time on what will never be,
No use pretending there is a “you and me.”
I lived a dream, I lived a lie,
I lived… but now it must be goodbye.

I was fine in my world of nothingness,
Until you came and filled it with happiness.
But there is not enough for us to be,
So lets close the door… please set me free.

The damage is done but maybe it can heal,
If on my heart I can put a seal.
So close the door and stop your game.
The time’s up but don’t worry you’re my friend just the same.

THE BELIZE OF OLD

Think back to the Belize of old,
When summer was hot and December was cold.
Think back to the times of yesteryears,
When all our thoughts were clear of today’s fears.

What has changed as progress came to the land?
What has created so much suffering to the Belizean Man?
As we prospered did we forget to say thank you?
Did we not think that our remaining hours could be few?

Oh, this life we have moulded and fashioned,
When will we see that it only leads to destruction?
Gone is the 5 cents bread and the 10 cents milk,
Gone is the famous crinoline and the vests of silk,
Gone is the mule and cart and the river ferry,
Thank goodness we still have cashew wine and berry.

The struggle continues today as we try to succeed,
The green revolution continues as we plant each seed.
The things we want today are on lists too long,
And have become a part of the new Belize’s song.

So think back on the Belize that is forever gone,
And look forever to the Belize that comes with the dawn.
If we work together we can rebuild and grow,
With a new Belize of happiness and so much more.

AS NATURE DOES THAT THING IT DOES

The sun went down over the land,
And took with it the only one
That I could tell the way I feel,
And know that the reply I got would be real.

The moon came out and filled the sky,
It looked at me and it said "Hi".
Its full beam was so shiny and so bright,
That I was happy to see the come of night.

The stars twinkled over head,
That was when I realized that I was not dead.
I'd just move on to another plain,
And I just had to sit back and watch it all again.

As nature does that thing it does,
We must appreciate the hour that flows.
And accept the things that we cannot change,
And accept that sometimes we are out of range.

And smile as the sun goes down over the land,
And smile as the moon becomes a part of the plan.
And smile as the stars twinkle above,
And smile as we share our love.

IT'S ALMOST TIME

It is almost time to say goodbye,
It is almost time for the bird to fly.
It is almost time to set me free,
It is almost time to let you be.

I knew this day was on the way,
I knew one day goodbye you'd say.
I knew that I would have to continue life alone,
I knew one day there would be no more calls on the phone.

I've lived the splendour of our home,
I've lived the joy of not being alone.
I've lived the peace you gave to me,
I've lived the knowledge that you made me see.

I hope I can go on with what I've learnt from you,
I hope I can continue to do what I have to do.
I hope this time in my life had a special reason,
I hope I can go on through each and every season.

The time has come to move on,
The time has come to seek a new dawn.
The time has come to take to flight,
The time has come to turn off the light.

There is just one thing I want to promise you,
I promise to continue the things I said I'd do,
I promise to continue to be the new me,
I promise to be all that I can be.

AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!

YOU ARE THE PROBLEM

You say you do,
But you don't.

You say you will,
But you won't.

You say you are not the problem,
But you are.

You keep saying so many things,
But really you are saying nothing.

You need to see,
But you are blind.
You need to listen,
But you are deaf,

You are nothing,
You are everything.

YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!

THE FIRST POEM I EVER WROTE. Dedicated to Tia Brenda

The world is a beautiful place where life and happiness are possible. (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

RAINBOW TOWN

Have you ever been North of Corozal Town,
Where colourful little houses the people there possess?
Cute yards with flowers and trees,
Even the air is fresh with the breeze.

The area is called Rainbow Town,
And it is very young,
For after Hurricane Janet
The government found there were many needs to be met.
Hundreds of people needs homes.
So they got down to terms.

They cleared away bushes and trees,
My father designed those houses to please.
My mother, with others, decorated and modelled,
One of those houses in Rainbow Town.

During the merry month of May,
You should take some walks that way,
For the lovely Flamboyant trees are in bloom
In the area of Rainbow Town!

THE HEART REJECTS

The heart rejects that which is does not want,
The heart rejects that which is does not understand,
The heart rejects whatever is not its plan.

The heart rejects the pain that you inflict,
The heart rejects you because you can’t win,
The heart rejects you and puts you in a tin!

The heart rejects the things you say,
The heart rejects the words they don’t want to hear,
The heart rejects them especially if you aren’t near.

The heart rejects the way you choose to be,
The heart rejects the life you want to live,
The heart rejects it and instead love it gives.

So what happens when the heart stops rejecting?
Then the love I have to give comes to life,
Then the world is complete and I become your wife!

SPEAKING OUT OF TURN

I guess I am just too vocal,
I guess I just have to say it all.
I’m the type of person who speaks her mind.
With me there is no quiet time.

So, sometimes I say things you don’t like,
Especially when I happen to be right,
Then you react by flying off the top,
And the red light goes off and shouts “STOP!”

I pull away for a while,
And remove my usual smile,
For the hurt I feel when you flare up,
Is more than half – it’s a full cup.

I guess I am different by far,
I cannot keep my words in a jar.
I love to voice my opinions straight from the heart,
Even though I know it can tear us apart.

So while I sometimes speak out of turn,
I know there is a lesson to learn,
If you would just accept that what I say,
Is meant to help you in every way.

THE NOW

(Dedicated to Abel)

When you awake and begin your day,
What is the first thing that you say?
Giving thanks for today is the way to start,
Then move on to enjoying the day - fill your heart.
There is so much to do in the NOW
No time to stop and ask - HOW?
You don't need to stop and think too much,
Do what brings you joy and live as such.
Many people have pains and hurts on their minds,
But have they looked around and seen the signs?
Life is a process of living and dying ever hour
So why fill your heart with that which is sour?
Be happy, give love and feel love at all times
That's the way he who seeks peace climbs.
Success is good, it can be really great,
But don't lock yourself behind an iron gate.
Enjoy the world, enjoy the NOW
At all stage curtains give a bow.
We are actors, We are stars,
On the stage of life there should be no bars
And when tomorrow is finally here
It too becomes NOW- a time so dear.

THE JOY OF LIFE

I am happy,
Are you?
I am smiling,
Can you?
I give love,
Do you?
I receive love,
You, too?

I have hopes,
I have dreams,
I have peace,
I have love,
What about you?

Hold dear to life,
Hold dear to dreams,
Have peace in your heart,
It is all that is seems.

Don’t worry about the small things,
Don’t worry about the impossible.
Just give love and kindness,
And your joy will be possible.

For the joy of my life,
Is in the peace that I have,
In the love that I give,
And that by which I live.

There is no mystery to happiness,
There is no need for sadness,
Just give and you’ll receive,
For love is all you need to believe.

YOU'RE GOD'S SPECIAL GIFT

With All my love to a Special Nephew

The love that shines in your mother's eyes,

Matches with the glow of your father's smile,

As in their arms their new born son lies,

And we realize this is not a fleeting moment, nor for a while.

For you were born to bring them joy,

On a very special and glorious day,

You are their treasure, their little boy,

To whom love they'll give in every way.

So as we look on and share the love,

We know that life is truly blessed,

And we must thank the Lord above,

For putting your parents through this test.

So little lad so cuddly and small,

Grow and fill the house with LOVE so true

And God's Blessing will spread to all,

Especially to your mom and dad and YOU.

REMEMBERING CAROLINE

To a mother who is gone, but not forgotten

When twilight's silver curtain did fall,

The Lord your name did call,

So you went to join him in Heaven,

Leaving behind a daughter, aged seven.

Many years have now gone by,

And yet I ask the question, why?

Why did you have to go away?

Why can't I have you here today?

I'm happy to hear people talk of you,

And wonderful things you used to do.

You were someone everyone admired,

And hearing of you I never get tired.

Now another Mother's Day is here,

Another day full with love and cheer.

I'm staring at the sky and feeling blue,

For even though you're not here, I love you.

So sweet Caroline, my mother dear,

I send my love with a little prayer,

And ask you to watch over me,

Your loving daughter, your little B.
