LITTLE GREEN BABIES

We travelled deep into the heart of the country
Not knowing what we would find.
It was definitely a trip for a journal entry,
That took us back into time.

We stopped so Victor could say hi to his mother,
And Abel could try his first pozol.
We were told our trip would take us still further,
But we decided to put that on hold.

That weekend we had gotten some little "peeps",
And the idea of getting more was high.
So, Abel asked a young girl across the street,
And she bargained with us for two green babies by and by.

These baby parrots were so tiny,
One barely had feathers at all.
But at feeding time they get really noisy,
I and Can is what they are called.

He feeds them like a mother would,
And they have gotten use to this.
They would surely say thank you if they could,
For a feeding he never goes and miss.

There are words they must learn to say,
As they are now part of this new habitat.
Hi!, Welcome!, Prehispanico!, Massage?
These green babies that we have got.

They will never be caged against their will,
For that would be mean to do,
So everyday they sit on Triccia's window sill,
And accept their daddy's "I love you!"
